Why Ruto’s Name should not appear in the 2027 Elections-Dr. Isaac Newton Kinity now Says

In an impassioned statement, Dr. Isaac Newton Kinity, a respected counselor, human rights activist, and former Secretary General of the Kenya Civil Servants Union, has called for President William Ruto to be disqualified from running in the 2027 general elections. Dr. Kinity, speaking from Connecticut, USA, accused Ruto’s administration of gross violations of the Constitution, human rights abuses, corruption, and the destruction of Kenya’s democratic institutions.

Kinity contends that allowing Ruto’s name on the ballot in 2027 will lead to an election riddled with irregularities and intimidation, ultimately denying Kenyans their right to a free and fair electoral process. “Efforts must be made to ensure Ruto does not appear on the ballot,” Kinity emphasized, warning of dire consequences if these measures are not taken.

Abuse of Power and Violations of the Constitution

Dr. Kinity accuses Ruto of blatant disregard for Kenya’s Constitution and the rule of law. Since assuming office in 2022, Ruto has allegedly ignored court rulings, including a controversial decision to reintroduce genetically modified organisms (GMOs) into Kenya despite public opposition and judicial blocks. This move, Kinity argues, illustrates Ruto’s determination to prioritize personal interests over the will and welfare of the Kenyan people.

Furthermore, Kinity claims Ruto has systematically dissolved state corporations after depleting their resources, leaving thousands of Kenyans unemployed and the nation’s economy in disarray. He also highlights what he describes as “unbearable taxes,” which have overburdened citizens and driven investors out of the country.

“Ruto’s administration has sold Kenya to foreign interests, turning our citizens into guinea pigs for dangerous scientific experiments,” Kinity stated. He accused the government of facilitating microchip insertion experiments on Kenyans, a practice he likened to the treatment of lab rats.

Extra-Judicial Killings and Disappearances

Dr. Kinity’s statement paints a grim picture of human rights under Ruto’s presidency. He alleges a spike in extra-judicial killings and enforced disappearances, particularly targeting youth and political activists. The most notable cases occurred during anti-government protests organized by opposition leader Raila Odinga in March and June of this year. Kinity claims that thousands of unarmed demonstrators, many of them young Kenyans, were brutally killed by security forces acting on orders from the highest levels of government.

The crackdown on dissent has not spared journalists. Kinity points to the disappearance of Maverick Aoko and the unresolved case of Dickson Bogonko Bosire as evidence of the government’s attempt to silence the media. He calls on Ruto to account for the fate of Aoko and other missing individuals.

“These actions reveal a government that thrives on fear and suppression. Ruto must answer for these crimes against humanity at the International Criminal Court (ICC),” Kinity declared.

Looting Public Resources

Kinity also accused Ruto’s administration of engaging in rampant corruption, claiming trillions of shillings have been looted from public coffers in just two years. He alleges that these funds, meant for development and social programs, have been funneled into private accounts or wasted on self-serving projects.

“This level of looting has plunged Kenya into a debt crisis, leaving citizens to bear the burden through oppressive taxes,” Kinity said. He argued that the unchecked theft of public resources undermines Kenya’s development and exacerbates poverty.

Call for Electoral Reform

With the 2027 elections on the horizon, Kinity urged Kenyans to unite in the fight for a free and fair electoral process. He expressed skepticism about the integrity of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) under Ruto’s influence, suggesting that the president would manipulate the system to secure victory regardless of the actual vote count.

“Even if Ruto gets only two votes—his and his wife’s—he will still forcefully declare himself the winner,” Kinity warned. He emphasized that removing Ruto’s name from the ballot is the only way to restore public confidence in Kenya’s democracy.

Kinity urged opposition leaders and citizens to focus on ensuring Ruto’s disqualification rather than preparing for an election he believes will be rigged. “Those with euphoria for the 2027 elections are deluding themselves. Join us in the fight to shut Ruto out of the race and give Kenyans a chance to choose leaders of integrity,” he appealed.

The Way Forward

Kinity’s statement is a rallying cry for accountability, justice, and the restoration of democratic norms in Kenya. He called on the international community, human rights organizations, and local activists to support efforts to hold Ruto accountable for alleged crimes against humanity and to pressure his administration to respect the rule of law.

“The fight for justice and democracy is not an easy one, but we will not rest until Ruto answers for his actions,” Kinity vowed.

Conclusion

Dr. Kinity’s allegations against President Ruto are severe, and they highlight the growing discontent among Kenyans over governance, human rights, and economic challenges. Whether or not his call to bar Ruto from the ballot gains traction, it underscores the urgent need for electoral reforms and accountability in Kenya’s political landscape.

The 2027 elections are shaping up to be a pivotal moment for the nation. As Dr. Kinity and others push for change, the world watches to see whether Kenya will rise to the challenge of safeguarding its democracy or continue on a path of division and unrest.
