In a decisive address at Ciala Technical Training Institute, during the tree planting day for Migori County, Education Cabinet Secretary Hon. Migos Ogamba emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to maintaining the integrity of national examinations. With only three weeks remaining before the commencement of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE), Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations, the CS announced that strict measures are being implemented to combat examination malpractice.

Hon. Ogamba articulated a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of cheating, asserting, “It is time to safeguard the dignity of education in this republic and bolster the confidence of our students.” He highlighted the increasing prevalence of malpractices, fueled by advancements in technology, which have led to innovative yet unethical methods of cheating, including impersonation and the unauthorized use of electronic devices.

The CS reassured candidates that comprehensive strategies have been established to ensure a smooth examination process. “We urge all students to prepare diligently for their exams. Any attempts to engage in malpractice will be met with severe consequences,” he warned.

Moreover, Hon. Ogamba directed heads of educational institutions and security personnel to conduct thorough preparations to facilitate a seamless examination experience. He also issued a stern warning to individuals who assist in cheating, stating that those caught will face legal repercussions and be banned from any educational institution.
