Meru County Assembly Sitting On Kawira's Impeachment.

Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has been impeached following the power struggle between her and the MCAs, which has been going on for over a year. The MCAs voted in favor of the impeachment for the third time.

The governor will now await the Senate to determine whether the impeachment has merit or whether they will save her from it. She will become the first governor in the country to be impeached three times in a row.

She is accused of gross violation of the constitution, gross misconduct, and abuse of office. Nominated MCA Zipporah Kinya brought forth all these accusations. In gross violation of the law, Zipporah said Mwangaza illegally revoked Virginia Kawira’s appointment as secretary to the county public service board.
